Our school is situated in the beautiful gardens of The Old Nick Village. We are grateful to be a part of this uplifting and creative community.
Originally built way back in 1880, Old Nick Village has a long and rich history. It now boasts a beautiful nursery and pottery studio, a carefully selected mix of creative merchants and is home to the Mungo Mill where the children can watch the exquisite textiles being woven.
Every Wednesday the Village hosts a Mid Week Market where you can find homegrown fruit and vegetables, ethically farmed meat and dairy as well as other local, natural and homemade products.
The Village thus serves as an extended learning environment for our children as we incorporate the surrounding environment into our daily program.
School Details
We are an English medium school comprised of two toddler classes, with a maximum of 15 full-time children per class, and two preschool classes that accommodate up to 20 children in each class.
Each class has a qualified teacher and a teaching assistant. The learning program in the preschool class includes a comprehensive grade R program, ensuring that the children have all the necessary skills before entering grade one.
Toddler Classroom
The Toddler classroom is designed and prepared to develop three aspects within the child that are crucial at this stage of development. These are the development of language, the development and refinement of movement and the facilitation of independence, particularly physical independence. All of the furniture is child-sized and everything is carefully and meticulously prepared for the toddlers. The day is carefully structured to meet their needs and we aim to nurture this critical time in development.
Preschool Program
The Preschool classes are guided by qualified Montessori & Preschool-credentialed teachers using a full complement of Montessori materials. The classroom is designed to offer choice for hands-on exploration following each child’s interests, learning style, and pace. Our program provides a balanced focus of promoting independence and concentration while learning friendship skills and the joys of feeling part of a harmonious group.

In the Preschool program children are exposed to individual, small group, and large group activities that allow them to build their minds, strengthen their bodies, and expand their hearts. The teachers work as guides to help each individual child progress at a comfortable pace. The children are excited, self-motivated and engaged.
