This term we have focused predominantly on getting the children settled and adjusted to their new classroom environment. We have spent a lot of time teaching social skills, grace and courtesy , table manners, how to deal with conflict , how to respect one another, how to wait your turn, how to pack away and how to take care of your belongings. These skills are all vital in order for children to contribute positively to a harmonious classroom environment where they can feel safe, secure and at peace.. We have a very calm class and, although there may still be a few tears at drop off or collection time, during the day the sound of laughter, singing and screeches of joy are the norm.
